Pepe's is where you go if you want the best pizza around. For me, it's all about that coal-fired oven. It just adds that bit of flavor that heightens a Neapolitan pizza. On top of that they have a crust that has a perfect balance of crispiness and chewiness, with a signature char (from the coal) that adds depth to every bite. If it's your first time, get the 3 for $45. It's the best way to sample all they've got and their menu is very diverse. Start with the margarita pizza, a white pizza and then whatever else catches your eye. You'll appreciate how they mastered the fundamentals in the marg and then put fun spins in it from there. I do want to point out that they serve the same sodas brands that they have been serving since their opening a hundred years ago. You have to be a quality beverage to survive that long, and the flavor shows. The interior of Frank Pepe’s is a nod to its rich history, with classical decor and black-and-white photos that transport you back in time. However, the seating is utilitarian and the ambiance feels more functional than cozy, making it a place where you enjoy your pizza but don’t necessarily want to linger.

This was my first time at the Stamford location. They have a great outdoor patio dining area. We opted for indoor dining with air conditioning and have zero regrets. Jessica was our server and she was wonderful. We wanted to try the clam pizza for the first time but were very nervous to order it in case we didn’t like it. Jessica told us if we don’t like it she’ll get us a brand new pizza so we ordered the clam pizza. As a seafood lover I did it find it very clammy tasting. There was tons of fresh garlic on a white sauce. We didn’t like it so we got a simple half plain cheese and half pepperoni. It was cooked to perfection! Great char and chewy thin crust! The flavors were phenomenal. Sometimes you just gotta go back to basics. We also got a sausage and pepperoni pizza. Sausage was tasty and not fennel heavy (I don’t like fennel seeds). You can ask for light, medium or well charred crust; we like ours medium. Check out the Stamford location and ask for Jessica.

This was our first time trying Frank Pepe, and I can honestly say it was beyond delicious. We did the sampler pizzas and had three different ones. The Margherita, Clam, and Doppio Pepperoni. More than enough for the three of us sharing them. We also had the Ceasar Salad. We left with two boxes of leftovers. The portions are fantastic. The flavor and char on the pizzas is really what makes them unique and addicting. The staff are friendly and on point. We will be back. Highly recommend!

We visited Pepe’s newest location in Stamford and were impressed at their consistency to the New Haven location, even as they’re just starting out. Our server did a fantastic job of checking up on us, and all of the pizzas came out quickly. Though the building is new and modern, it still maintains the charm we know and love from the original location. The pepperoni pizza was extra good! Fresh salad and great desserts as always. It’s great to know I can have the same Pepe’s experience I know and love down in Stamford!

I finally had the chance to try the famous white clam pizza, something I’d always wanted to experience from the original in New Haven but never had the chance. The flavor was a bit of a surprise but not bad overall. The restaurant is in a new location in Stamford but with a nostalgically decorated atmosphere. Coal fired oven. I’d be interested in coming back to try trying some of the other locations.

We like to eat Pizza and salad. So we’re happy to try the newly opened Frank Pepe Pizzeria in Stamford CT. The pizza was crisp and thin crust, just lie we like to. We ordered a pepperoni, a vegetarian margherita, and one everything with meat. All pizzas were excellent. Service was good. The Italian salad was fresh and tasty. Atmosphere is casual pizzeria. Prices were average, about what you would expect in a place like this. Overall, we are very pleased, and plan to go there again.

When I had my first Frank Pepe pizza at the New Haven location, I told myself and everyone I know that it was the best pizza I’d ever had. I love pizza and eat it almost every day. While staying in Greenwich, I was happy to see this location being nearby. With all my excitement, sadly I was disappointed. It resembles the original but it was definitely not. I ordered the classic (mozzarella and sauce) to go. My first impression: there was a noticeable amount of oil pooling on top of the pizza. Second impression: as soon as I picked up a slice, it completely folded and collapsed. Maybe they used too much cheese, or maybe it needed to be cooked longer, whatever the reason, any pizza enthusiast knows this is not how it supposed to be. In New Haven, I devoured the entire pie. This time, I closed the box after struggling through one very messy slice. I know they are expanding and it takes time to sort things out. I will try it again another time.

Pizza is a major staple of my family, so we took the challenge to see what this beloved chain has to offer. I must say that we were impressed. We got the sampler (4 small pies) and enjoyed all of the selections. We rated them (most fav to least fav) Meatball, Bacon and onions, three cheese, and plain. Ambiance was nice. Service was good too. Coal oven pizza is definitely a great experience from the usual NY pizza (still prefer but still a good selection). Their soda selections are worth a try, too
